Full Stack Engineer

Halo Neuroscience is looking for a talented full stack developer who will be responsible for managing our website and some backend APIs. Your primary focus will be maintaining and developing all server-side logic, implementing new features, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by our marketing and product teams.

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code
  • Integration with Postgres
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization
  • Help develop micro-services
  • Frontend and Backend development


  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, preferably psychology or neuroscience
  • 1-4 years of relevant experience
  • 1-2 years in a fast startup environment preferred
  • Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
  • Good understanding of server-side templating languages (We use ERB)
  • Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful
  • A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code
  • Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
  • Familiarity with development aiding tools (Docker, rake)

Nice to haves

  • Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
